Alexander Bebis
Owner and President
Alexander Bebis is an executive benefits consultant who is paid only by his clients. He holds no carrier appointments, sells no products, and earns no commissions. He is licensed in Massachusetts as an insurance adviser, which is what permits him to charge a fee for analysis of insurance and annuity contracts without selling them.
Alex works with clients across the country, specializing in the design, modeling, and governance of nonqualified executive benefit arrangements for credit unions, health systems, higher education, and other nonprofits. That includes 457(f) plans, SERPs, restricted bonus arrangements, and split dollar in its loan-regime, endorsement, and economic-benefit forms. The work extends to in-force policy evaluation, prefunding analysis, and governance documentation built to hold up to an examiner.
Before founding Arctis, Alex spent five years at a life insurance carrier, moving from internal marketing into advanced case design, where he evaluated illustration assumptions, crediting mechanics, and long-term policy economics. He spent nearly five more with a national executive benefits firm serving credit unions, nonprofits, and health systems, ultimately serving as principal and chief operating officer.
Alex knows these arrangements from the inside, having worked directly on their design and the business of delivering them to clients. At Arctis he uses that to tell clients what a proposal assumes, and what happens if those assumptions miss.
He founded Arctis to do that analysis without the incentive attached.

Where the name comes from
When choosing a name for the firm, I wanted something that connected to my Greek heritage. Arctis comes from arktos, the ancient Greek word for bear and the root of “Arctic.” The bear constellations connect that history to the northern sky, including Polaris, the North Star, which has guided travelers for centuries.
The name also evokes Arcturus, which is usually translated as guardian of the bear, and Arctophylax, the bear watcher. The bear watcher is the part I like. Questions can go unasked when the person who understands the structure is also the one being paid to sell it.
I founded Arctis to bring independent attention to those details and ask those questions. That’s what “Find True North” means to me: helping clients find their direction while keeping watch over the interests they’ve trusted me with.
Alex lives in southeastern Massachusetts with his wife and three children. Most of his time outside work is spent camping, hiking, or skiing with them.
